Custom Carbon Fiber Fishing Rod
100% Carbon Fiber Tube

Custom Carbon Fiber Fishing Rod

We make carbon fibre fishing rods and blanks to order, to your exact length, action and power along with CNC-machined aluminium reel seats and stainless steel guides for a precise, trustworthy design. Choose from T700 to T1000 (24T–46T) carbon modulus variants to tune stiffness, sensitivity and weight for any technique.
Bespoke Carbon Fibre Fishing Rods are built to spec from one prototype to complete OEM production runs; with constant taper, clean look and dependable performance.

    Why Carbon Fiberhigh-modulus-carbon-fiber-weave-texture.jpg

Carbon fibre is the choice for high performance rods for good reason.A carbon fiber bank is usually 30-50% lighter than a fibreglass blank of comparable strength which implies less strain on your arm during a long day on the lake. High stiffness to weight ratio material, it transmits vibrations efficiently, enabling fishermen to feel bites, structure, and bottom contact even when light. High-modulus carbon also supports heavy load well, providing a rod the backbone to battle big, powerful fish without adding bulk. Stiffness can be added in the layup, and one material spans the entire spectrum from delicate lightweight tip to rugged offshore blank.

    CNC-Machined Components

If the Custom Carbon Fiber Fishing Rod is put under stress its strength is reduced to the metal parts that are machined in house at Key-CNC to tolerances a cast or moulded part can't hold:

    * Reel Seat – machined from 6061 or 7075 aluminium and hard anodised for protection against corrosion in seawater. The threads and hood are clean cut so the reel locks solid with no play even after extended use.
    * Guide Frames & Inserts - stainless steel frames with ceramic or SiC inserts for smooth line flow and minimum wear on braid or mono. Line lift correct if frame height and foot length matched to blank.
    * Ferrules & Connectors spigot and tip-over-butt joints machined for a tight rattle-free fit. The load is transmitted smoothly throughout the connection, instead of creating a flat spot.
    * Butt Cap, Gimbal & Winding Check - End fittings and trim are machined to the blank diameter for a clean, sealed transition. Offshore variants come with fighting butts and gimbals.
We machine and assemble everything in-house, maintaining precise tolerances and eliminating third-party lead times. The significant advantage of scaling a Custom Carbon Fiber Fishing Rod from sample to production.

All rods start off as a blank. High modulus carbon fibre prepreg is twisted around a precise steel mandrel,       cured in a controlled environment under heat and pressure, then ground and finished to a flawless taper. The   orientation of the carbon and number of layers is decided per design . That is the layup that ultimately defines   how the blank loads and rebounds .
We choose the modulus from T700 for a more forgiving, durable blank to T1000 for optimal stiffness-to-   weight.   A glass scrim or carbon spiral wrap offers hoop strength to prevent ovalling that can lead to blank   failure under   high pressure. The end product is a light weight active blank with a high strength to weight ratio  that will stand   up to repeated casting and battling.

    Carbon Modulus Guide

The rigidity of the carbon fibre is the modulus. Higher modulus means a lighter, stiffer, more sensitive blank—but also a more brittle one if pushed over its intended limit. The proper choice depends on how the rod is fished:

    Modulus Character Best For
T700 (≈24–30T) Tougher, more forgiving, impact-resistant Beginner, travel, heavy cover, big-game backbone
T800 (≈36–40T) Balanced stiffness and durability All-round spinning and casting rods
T1000 (≈46T) Lightest, stiffest, most sensitive High-end finesse, tournament, fast-action tips

    Rod Action & Power

Action and power are two different things and are often confused:

    * Action is the point where the rod bends. Fast taper bends near the tip for quick hook-sets and sensitivity, moderate and slow tapers bend further into the blank for a softer, more protective load.
    * Power refers to the amount of power it takes to flex the rod, ranging from ultralight (UL) for small fish and light line to extra-heavy (XH) for huge fish and heavy cover.

    Power Typical Line Typical Use
UL – L 2–8 lb Panfish, trout, finesse
    M – MH 8–17 lb Bass, walleye, all-round
H – XH 15–80 lb Pike, musky, surf, offshore

The rod's action and power are matched to your technique and target species to cast the lure range and protect the line class. Many rods combine modulus across the blank, employing a higher-modulus tip for feel and a lower-modulus butt section for durability and lifting power to balance sensitivity, strength, and cost. We can build single- or multi-modulus Custom Carbon Fibre Fishing Rods to fit your performance and price goals.

    Our Production Process

The Custom Carbon Fiber Fishing Rod goes from design to delivery through one facility:

    • Design & DFM – We'll analyse your spec or sample to verify taper, action and components, highlighting any cost or durability issues prior to tooling.
    • Blank Rolling - Carbon prepreg is cut, wrapped over mandrels and shrink taped.
    • Curing & Finishing blanks are oven cured then ground, sanded and finished to the target diameter and cosmetic.
    • Component MachiningReel seats, guides, ferrules and caps are CNC machined and anodized in house.
    • Assembly & Wrapping guides wrapped and epoxy coated, reel seat and grip fitted, joints tested.
    • Painting & Brandingpaint, decals and logos are applied and sealed.

    • QC & PackingEach rod is checked, weighed and packed in a protective sleeve or tube.

    Applications & Rod Types

We manufacture custom blanks and finished rods in all the disciplines:

    * Spinning Rods All-round rods for bass, trout and inshore species, built with stainless steel guide frames precision-machined for smooth line flow in any condition.
    * Casting rods – for precision and control when using heavier lures.
    * Fly Rods -- Progressive action for delicate presentation and control of the line.
    * Surf rods, lengthy blanks with the backbone to cast distance.
    * Ice & telescopic travel rods are small constructions that pack down without loosing action.
    * Jigging & Trolling Rods – Short, Powerful Rods for Offshore and Big-Game Targets.

In any discipline the blank action and components are matched to how the rod is actually going to be fished. A Custom Carbon Fiber Fishing Rod for finesse trout work and one for offshore jigging are designed as two different instruments, not one blank with different labels.

    Quality Control and Testing

Not only at the conclusion, but quality is tested at each step:

    Blank inspection

after cure, wall thickness, straightness and taper are checked.

    Action & load testing

blanks are tested for flex and deflection to ensure that the action is consistent across the batch.

    Component testing

machined aluminium reel seats and guide frames are salt-sprayed and tested for corrosion resistance.

    Assembly check

check your specification for guide alignment, wrap quality, ferrule fit and overall weight.
