How are carbon fiber tubes custom processed?

Carbon fiber tube is a relatively common product in carbon fiber products, and many products are further processed through carbon fiber tube. During production, the appropriate processing technology will be selected according to the actual situation of the carbon fiber tube, such as winding, rolling, molding, pultrusion, etc. The customized process will not be very different, the only difference is the angle of the paving and the number of layers. So how are carbon fiber tubes custom machined?
The custom production and processing process of carbon fiber tubes is mainly in this way. First, first determine the size specifications of carbon fiber tubes with customers, and then in-depth understand the actual needs and accuracy requirements of carbon fiber tubes. Including delivery dates for carbon fiber tubes and more.
During production, the mold should be produced according to the size of the carbon fiber tube. The mold cannot be produced completely according to the inner diameter of the tube, and should be slightly smaller. Because steel, such as metal pipes, is used as a mold, there will be a part of thermal expansion and contraction during heating, and a small size can reserve a little space. If the tube structure is complex, the mold should be designed reasonably to avoid poor quality of the carbon fiber tube after molding due to poor demoulding. .
After the mold production is completed, the layup design of the carbon fiber prepreg is carried out. Taking carbon fiber square tube molding as an example, the carbon fiber prepreg that has been cut from the laying angle is first put into the mold, the inner core mold is wrapped, and the prepreg is compacted. After that, the mold is closed and sent to the hot press to give pressure and temperature, and then solidified and formed into a carbon fiber tube. After the molding is completed, the mold can be demolded, and then the excess parts at both ends of the rough embryo can be removed, and then the machining operation is carried out. , so that the outer circle and the overall size can better meet the actual requirements, and leave a margin, which is conducive to the subsequent painting work.
The next step is the quality inspection and packaging. There should be no defects such as bubbles, cracks, and blisters. Qualified carbon fiber tubes need to be packaged with foam paper and sent to customers.
